EYE OF THE BEHOLDER IS CURRENTLY SHOWING AT THE ARTS CONSORTIUM OF CARVER COUNTY’S LIFE IN ABSTRACTION EXHIBIT FROM OCTOBER 11 - NOVEMBER 24, 2023. IT IS AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE THROUGH THIS WEBSITE OR AT THE SHOW.
Eye of the Beholder is an original acrylic painting 36” x 36” and is part of my Abstract Series. It is unframed and can be hung without any framing at all or you can build out a special frame that you might prefer.
Eye of the Beholder is a highly textured painting with scratching, etching, dabbing, and palette knife application. While many of my abstract pieces are filled with bold color and sweeping, wild strokes, this painting has less movement and more detail, using only three colors. Look closely at different areas of the canvas, where you will see how white and black paint drip into each other, while other areas have feathered paint, barely touching the canvas but making a bold statement. Scratching and dabbing help to create the overall look of this painting, where unendingly interesting nuances can be found by the Eye of the Beholder.
