GAIL FORCEWIND IS OUT ON EXHIBIT - STILL AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE

Gail Forcewind is an original acrylic painting 24” x 36” and is part of my Thunder Skies Series. There is no custom frame on this painting, which can be hung without any framing at all or you can build out a special frame that you might prefer.

The boy, about 9 or 10, so smart, eager to show that intelligence off wants to know when my friend, Gail Forcewind, will be arriving. Excited to show off what he is learning in his history unit, he suggests that she may be of Native American heritage based on her name. He explains how cool their names are, and that they represent meaningful things about the person, their characteristics, their appearance, something suiting their personalities, or perhaps the place they were born. We end up naming ourselves for a while, giggling with names like Maple Syrup Boy, Bird’s Nest Hair, Brave Bear (insert big growling sound here), Mama Sweet Tooth, and Forgetful Woman.

When we run out of names he asks again when Gail Forcewind will be here. I don’t know what he’s talking about and ask him. “You said that Gail Forcewind was going to be here soon and that’s why we needed to put the cushions away from the outdoor furniture. Doesn’t she like sitting outside?” he says. Voice in my head: “Ummm…huh”? Then as if struck by lightning, I begin laughing hysterically. “Oh…gale force wind is coming soon! I just meant that the storm was blowing in. That’s why we had to get the cushions put away. Gale force wind is just an expression. A strong wind is often called a “gale”. It’s just the two of us this weekend. I don’t have a friend visiting us, no GAIL FORCEWIND.
